[Remote] Data Modeling Analyst

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. New York University is seeking a Data Modeling Analyst to support its mission through decision support and statistical modeling. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, analyzing data, and providing quantitative insights to inform new initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with university stakeholders to design and provide decision support for external reports and new initiatives in support of New York University’s mission
  • Utilize available data sources to design and develop statistical models to analyze past data and to predict future behavior
  • Provide quantitative analysis of various alternatives to ensure new initiatives meet operational goals
  • Utilize technical skills to extract and analyze data, and communication skills to present quantitative analysis to stakeholders

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years of experience with data collection, retrieval, analysis, and reporting in an applied context
  • Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with data analysis software a must (R, SPSS, Python, JMP or equivalent)
  • Proficiency writing SQL to query databases and manipulate data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (Tableau/Tableau Prep or equivalent)
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Business, or a related field
  • 2+ years with data warehousing/reporting in an institutional research environment
  • Scripting/programming experience in R, SPSS, Python, JMP or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Consulting experience a plus
  • Familiarity with reporting requirements around Student Enrollment Records and Student Financial Aid
