About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Lead the research and development of novel skincare formulations, from concept to final product, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Identify and evaluate emerging ingredients, technologies, and market trends to drive product innovation. Design and execute experimental protocols for formulation, stability testing, and safety assessments. Troubleshoot complex formulation issues and provide expert technical guidance to cross-functional teams. Ensure all formulations comply with global regulatory requirements and industry standards. Collaborate virtually with marketing, product development, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches. Author and review technical documentation, including formulation briefs, laboratory reports, and safety data. Mentor junior chemists and provide technical leadership within the R&D department. Present research findings and formulation strategies to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. in Cosmetic Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in cosmetic formulation, with a strong emphasis on skincare. Demonstrated expertise in developing a wide range of skincare product types (e.g., anti-aging, acne treatment, sensitive skin). In-depth understanding of ingredient functionality, toxicology, and regulatory affairs (global experience is a plus). Proven ability to innovate and develop unique, patentable formulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and a rigorous scientific approach. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective remote collaboration. Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects, and meet aggressive deadlines. Proficiency with laboratory equipment and formulation software. A passion for the beauty industry and a deep understanding of consumer needs.
