LinkedIn is seeking experienced IP counsel and patent/trademark professionals to provide expert insight as part of a project for their AI Marketplace. The role involves completing a recorded AI-led video interview focusing on workflows and decision-making processes in intellectual property law.

Responsibilities

• You’ll complete a ~ 30-minute recorded AI-led video interview where you explain how you actually do your work in practice
• This interview will focus on:
• Intaking invention disclosures, proposed brands, ownership information, public-disclosure risk, and business context
• Assessing protection strategy, clearance, patentability, trademark risk, freedom-to-operate, trade secret treatment, and filing decisions
• Managing filings, office actions, prosecution strategy, international filings, priority dates, and hard legal deadlines
• Coordinating inventors, product, marketing, outside counsel, and business approvers while balancing cost, value, and risk
• You will be asked to explain workflows specifically within: IP intake, invention disclosure, brand clearance, patentability/FTO analysis, filing, prosecution, and outside-counsel coordination workflows

Skills

• 7+ years in intellectual property law, patent prosecution, trademark clearance, IP strategy, or IP portfolio counseling
• Direct, hands-on experience in IP intake, invention disclosure, brand clearance, patentability/FTO analysis, filing, prosecution, and outside-counsel coordination workflows
• Experience making or influencing decisions related to protection type, filing priority, clearance risk, prosecution strategy, abandonment, international coverage, budget, and outside-counsel engagement
• Familiarity with tools such as: Anaqua, FoundationIP, PATTSY, CPI, USPTO TSDR, USPTO Patent Center, WIPO, Questel, Clarivate, Corsearch, SAEGIS, Excel
• Strong ability to clearly explain workflows, decisions, and reasoning
• Experience owning or directly executing these workflows in a real production environment
• Experience working cross-functionally with legal, business, finance, compliance, security, procurement, product, engineering, or outside counsel stakeholders as relevant to the workflow
