The Health IT Data Engineer will design and optimize data pipelines and analytics environments to support Health IT modernization initiatives, collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise data pipelines and ETL processes
• Develop logical and physical data models
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems
• Implement data validation and quality control procedures
• Optimize database and reporting performance
• Support Power BI, Tableau, and enterprise reporting platforms
• Develop automation processes supporting data ingestion and transformation
• Ensure compliance with Government security and privacy requirements
• Troubleshoot data integration issues and performance bottlenecks
• Support cloud-based analytics environments and data modernization initiatives
• Prepare technical documentation and data architecture diagrams

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field
• Minimum seven (7) years of data engineering experience
• Strong SQL development skills
• Experience designing ETL pipelines
• Experience with relational databases and data warehousing
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting platforms
• Ability to obtain DHS Public Trust suitability
• Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric experience
• Power BI and Tableau development experience
• Healthcare data integration experience
• Knowledge of HL7 or FHIR standards
