Overview

A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced PACS Administrator to support and optimize a complex enterprise imaging environment across Radiology and Cardiology services. This position will play a critical role in maintaining imaging system performance, supporting clinical operations, troubleshooting production issues, and assisting with ongoing imaging modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on PACS administration experience, a deep understanding of imaging workflows, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, IT teams, and vendor partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both operational support and project-based work within a sophisticated healthcare imaging environment. Position Responsibilities

  • Administer and support enterprise PACS environments across Radiology and Cardiology.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and workflow efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PACS-related issues affecting clinical operations.
  • Support DICOM image routing, modality connectivity, and interoperability workflows.
  • Manage imaging integrations between PACS, VNA, RIS, EMR, dictation, and ancillary systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding upgrades, patches, issue resolution, and system optimization.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, testing, and validation activities.
  • Support imaging migrations, archive initiatives, and infrastructure-related projects.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and business continuity efforts.
  • Analyze workflow issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution as required.
  • Maintain documentation, change control records, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Radiology leadership, Cardiology teams, Informatics, Infrastructure, and Clinical Operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of PACS Administration experience within a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of PACS architecture and imaging workflows.
  • Experience supporting Change Healthcare (Optum) PACS or similar enterprise PACS platforms.
  • Knowledge of:
  • DICOM
  • HL7
  • Image routing
  • Modality integration
  • Workflow troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting Radiology imaging operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Cardiology imaging systems.
  • Experience with Vendor Neutral Archives (VNA).
  • Experience supporting cloud imaging initiatives or archive migrations.
  • Knowledge of PowerScribe 360.
  • Experience with Epic imaging integrations.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Understanding of storage, networking, and enterprise imaging infrastructure.
