JOB DESCRIPTION Are you considering transitioning from your current entry-level position in Criminal Justice to becoming a Digital Reporter? In this role, you'll oversee civil litigation proceedings and use digital tools to record all content, including witness testimonies. The Digital Reporter is responsible for:  Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.  Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.  Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.  Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.  Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources.  Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently. REQUIREMENTS  State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it  Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)  Familiarity with or willingness to learn about U.S. civil procedures  Possess or be willing to acquire digital reporting equipment  Comfortable moderating live legal proceedings  Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing  Strong technology skills, especially in typing  Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and appearance  Willingness to work as an independent contractor  Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required  Willing to work both remotely and in person ADVERTISEMENT Digital Reporting is a fast-growing profession in great demand.
