We are a Charlotte, NC based agency that is a hands on partner for small to medium sized businesses covering project management, operations management, creative, and technical execution. What You’ll Do - Collaborate with designers, clients, and stakeholders to transform concepts and designs into engaging Shopify experiences. - Develop custom Shopify stores from the ground up, including theme setup, product and collection configuration, navigation, checkout customization, and launch preparation. - Customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation from design files. - Create and maintain custom Shopify applications, API integrations, webhooks, and third-party platform connections. - Continuously research, evaluate, and integrate new tools, libraries, and development workflows to improve performance and efficiency. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to themes, applications, APIs, integrations, hosting environments, and website performance. - Diagnose bugs, oversee website deployments, and manage hosting, DNS, domain, and email configurations. - Conduct comprehensive QA testing to ensure functionality, responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility. - Review code submissions and pull requests from freelancers and contractors, ensuring quality standards and project requirements are met. - Support ongoing conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives through testing, analysis, and implementation of performance improvements. What We’re Looking For - 5+ years of professional Shopify development experience across multiple live stores. - Deep expertise in Liquid, plus strong HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript. - Hands-on experience with the Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, webhooks, and building custom apps. - Experience with Shopify Plus, checkout customization, and Online Store 2.0 architecture. - A track record of performance optimization and improving store conversion. - Comfortable working with Git and modern front-end tooling. - Self-directed, reliable communicator who can scope work and hit deadlines without close supervision. Nice to Have - WordPress - Webflow - JavaScript (React, Next.js, or similar frameworks) Key Details This is a contract engagement to start, scoped around specific deliverables, with strong potential for ongoing or retainer work for the right person. Please share your typical availability, and a portfolio or links to Shopify stores you’ve built or worked on. Role Ongoing web development projects starting with part-time hours, with potential for full-time work. Availability Must be available to support Pacific Time Zone business hours.
