About the position The individual in this role must possess a deep understanding of surveying principles and CAD techniques, as well as the ability to work independently on more complex drafting tasks. A CAD Technician will create and edit intricate drawings, perform advanced calculations, conduct comprehensive land survey research, and ensure all CAD work meets the highest standards of precision and accuracy. This individual will also confirm that all drawings and maps accurately represent the surveyed data while adhering to project specifications and industry standards. The Survey CAD Technician takes on a mentorship role, guiding and assisting less experienced technicians in their work. This role requires a proficient understanding of both surveying and CAD software, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Advanced understanding of CAD and Surveying principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to share knowledge and provide support to less experienced CAD Technicians
  • Experience with subdivisions and plots.
  • Basic understanding and ability to read construction plans, procedures and perform field calcs.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development, with a willingness to stay updated on the latest CAD software and surveying technologies.
  • Familiarity with other relevant software (such as GIS or BIM software) and technology used in surveying and civil engineering.
  • Flexibility with training in one of BCSC Office locations.

Pay:

  • Minimum $22 per hour depending upon experience
