Provide accurate interpretation services between healthcare professionals and patients who speak Somali. Facilitate effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology in both English and Somali. Attend training and continuing education opportunities to enhance interpretation skills. Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity in all interactions with patients and healthcare providers. Help to bridge the language barrier and promote equal access to healthcare services for Somali-speaking patients. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely communication. Document interpreted conversations accurately and in a timely manner. Advocate for patients' needs and rights as necessary. Act as a cultural liaison between patients and healthcare providers to promote understanding and trust. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information. Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Act as a positive representative of Allina Health System and its mission to provide quality healthcare to all patients. Participate in team meetings and provide feedback and suggestions for improving interpretation services.
