Position Summary The Senior Underwriting Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing underwriting processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze risk data, and contribute to strategic decision-making. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication. What will your job entail? Job Responsibilities: · Provide leadership and guidance to junior underwriters and other staff members. · Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives. · Develop and update underwriting policies and procedures. · Oversee the risk assessment process and make final underwriting decisions on complex cases. · Conduct training programs for underwriting staff and ensure their professional development. · Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of underwriting operations. · Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including brokers, agents, and clients, to maintain strong relationships. · Oversee compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. · Monitor and evaluate the performance of the underwriting team and take corrective actions when necessary. · Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform underwriting strategies. Work Experience and Education: · Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management or Business with a minimum of 8 years of experience. The target salary range for this position is $136,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands.
