We are seeking a visionary Senior Technical Game Designer to join a small, high‑performing team of creators who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment. Why This Role Matters The Senior Technical Game Designer will serve as the technical bridge between the artistic vision and the engineering implementation. Working closely with the layout (level design) team, you will empower designers to translate concepts into robust, maintainable game content using Unreal Engine’s Blueprint system and C++ code. Your expertise will amplify the team’s creative capacity, streamline production pipelines, and ensure that the final product meets the highest standards of performance, stability, and player satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Mentorship: Leverage deep knowledge of Unreal Engine to coach and guide designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Workflow Optimization: Identify, propose, and implement improvements to design tools, pipelines, and asset workflows that increase efficiency and reduce iteration time.
  • Problem Solving: Partner with designers to troubleshoot technical challenges, devise elegant solutions, and integrate fixes without compromising artistic intent.
  • Feature Implementation: Build and maintain reusable Blueprint components, UMG widgets, animation blueprints, and gameplay systems that power core game features.
  • Documentation & Communication: Write clear design specifications, review them with stakeholders, and iterate based on feedback to ensure alignment across art, design, and engineering.
  • Cross‑Disciplinary Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with artists, animators, programmers, and product leads to translate high‑level concepts into concrete, playable experiences.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing of technical implementations, enforce best practices, and maintain high standards for code readability and performance.
  • Innovation Advocacy: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and Unreal Engine updates, championing new techniques that can elevate the game’s quality.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical design role within a game development environment.
  • Proven expertise with Unreal Engine 4/5, especially Blueprint scripting, UMG, Animation Blueprint, and Gameplay Ability System.
  • Strong foundation in 3D mathematics (vectors, matrices, quaternions) and spatial reasoning.
  • Solid programming skills in C++, with a track record of delivering production‑ready code.
  • At least 1 shipped title that utilized Unreal Engine, demonstrating an understanding of the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience contributing to multiplayer game projects, including networking considerations and performance optimization.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with a talent for translating complex technical concepts into accessible language for non‑technical teammates.
  • Passion for games, a curiosity‑driven mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred (Bonus) Skills

  • Additional programming experience in Python, C#, or Lua, useful for tooling and rapid prototyping.
  • Artistic or animation background, including the ability to create placeholder meshes, rigging, and basic animation for early gameplay prototypes.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git) and CI/CD pipelines tailored for game development.
  • Experience with performance profiling tools (e.g., Unreal Insights, RenderDoc) and a systematic approach to diagnosing bottle
