Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible. Job Description: Parsons is now hiring for a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our Kansas City Transportation team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to expand in your technical skillset, working alongside a world-class team of civil engineers on major regional infrastructure projects! The ideal candidate will report remotely, based in the Kansas City area. What You'll Be Doing: Lead the design and development of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design. Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met. Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any issues that arise. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements. Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is desirable Professional Engineer (PE) license is required Minimum of 8 years or more of experience in roadway design engineering Solid roadway geometric design background with proficiency in roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads) Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards and guidelines Intermediate skills with Excel Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Security Clearance Requirement: None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
