Why This Respiratory Therapist Role Is Different This position stands out due to its strong focus on pediatric respiratory care, which represents approximately 30% of the patient population. It offers a unique opportunity to apply and develop specialized clinical skills while maintaining a balanced schedule between in-branch coordination and field-based care. The role also provides exposure to a diverse urban patient base within the metro Atlanta area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Provide care for both adult and pediatric patients (pediatric cases ~30%)
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Performs other duties as required

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active GA RT license.
• Experience in pediatric respiratory care (required).
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
