The Vice President of Business Development will drive strategic growth initiatives, identify new business opportunities, and manage key accounts while collaborating with various teams to ensure successful transaction execution.

Responsibilities

• Driving strategic growth initiatives across key markets and client segments
• Identifying, evaluating, and securing new business opportunities in alignment with Daiwa’s global strategy
• Developing and executing business plans
• Leading prospecting efforts and building long-term relationships with institutional, corporate, and strategic partners
• Leading and supporting contract negotiations, structuring complex deals, and collaborating with legal, risk, and compliance teams to ensure sound transaction execution
• Managing key accounts, monitoring market trends and competitive activity, preparing executive presentations, and reporting on pipeline, performance metrics, and revenue outcomes to senior leadership

Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in New Business Development and Sales, with a track record of originating, developing, and closing high-value opportunities
• Strong Business Planning skills, including market analysis, financial modeling, and development of go-to-market strategies
• Hands-on experience in Contract Negotiation, including structuring complex agreements and collaborating with legal and compliance teams
• Proven Account Management capabilities, including maintaining senior-level client relationships and driving account growth
• Extensive experience in financial services, investment banking, capital markets, or related sectors; prior exposure to global or cross-border business is highly beneficial
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams remotely, influence stakeholders at all levels, and operate effectively in a matrixed, multicultural environment
• Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear business recommendations
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field required
• Comfort with remote collaboration tools and willingness to work across time zones as needed to support global initiatives
• An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant professional certifications is a plus
