They are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to maintain and support production systems with strong Linux fundamentals and an automation-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in production environments
• Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Docker and/or Podman
• Support container orchestration platforms such as Docker Compose (deployment, troubleshooting, and operations)
• Automate system configuration and provisioning using Ansible
• Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate routine operational tasks
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents across infrastructure and application layers
• Maintain system security, including patching, access controls, and certificate management
• Provide support for Java applications using the Spring framework running on Tomcat with Nginx
• Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures

Skills

• Experience working in heavily regulated environments
• 3 - 7+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator
• Strong experience with Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker or Podman
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash and/or Python)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience with SELinux, system hardening, and security best practices
• Experience managing internal certificate authorities and trust chains
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.)
• Experience supporting both operations (O&M) and development (modernization) efforts
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including experience with Docker networking
