Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Kforce Inc is a leading healthcare organization seeking a Staff Accountant. This role involves supporting financial reporting, account reconciliations, and assisting with audit-related activities while ensuring the accuracy of financial documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of internal financial reports and assist with general accounting activities
• Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including the preparation of supporting schedules and analyses
• Compile and organize financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation
• Assist with account reconciliations and investigate variances as needed
• Participate in audit-related activities, including gathering documentation and assisting with audit requests
• Help prepare journal entries and support closing activities with appropriate documentation
• Perform variance analysis on budget verses actual results and assist in identifying key drivers
• Support cash activity tracking, including bank reconciliations
• Assist in maintaining and analyzing expense and contract-related data
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand operational and financial trends and support reporting needs
• Provide support for budgeting processes and other financial planning activities
• Contribute to ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, including experience with month-end close, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivots, lookup functions)
• Solid organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• ERP system experience (e.g., SAP) is a plus
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus
