Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate their growing State and Local Government business. In this role, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership while working with a world-class sales and business development team to implement innovative cloud computing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Helping our customers to design and create cloud computing architectures
• Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers
• Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community
• Defining implementation architectures
• Responding to RFPs
• Developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
• Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services

Skills

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Ability to travel 30%
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures
• Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
• Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure
