Uplinq is a tech-forward bookkeeping and accounting firm that provides high-quality accounting services to a diverse range of small businesses. As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will lead accounting tasks for complex clients, manage financial reporting, and mentor junior team members while ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and financial reporting for complex client accounts using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Uplinq’s proprietary accounting system
• Prepare and document advanced journal entries
• Handle job costing, inventory tracking, and class/location-based reporting as needed
• Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations
• Build and maintain client-specific SOPs, documentation, and QBO workflows
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients—leading calls, owning relationships, and resolving escalations
• Review junior team members’ work and provide clear, constructive feedback

Skills

• 5+ years of small business or firm-based accounting experience
• Advanced Knowledge in QuickBooks Online
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accrual accounting and GAAP principles
• Experience with job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting
• Skilled in managing third-party integrations
• Documentation and workflow mapping abilities
• Confident communicator who can lead client meetings and explain financials clearly
