[Remote] Senior AI Software Engineer

Health Management Associates is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting AI-enabled software solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The role involves collaboration with various teams to deliver secure and reliable technology solutions for healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable AI-enabled applications, APIs, and data solutions
  • Translate business and client requirements into secure, production-ready technical solutions
  • Develop cloud, data engineering, and AI/ML solutions using Azure, Databricks, and related technologies
  • Build and integrate AI-enabled capabilities including generative AI, predictive analytics, automation, and NLP solutions
  • Apply modern software engineering practices including automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies
  • Support solution optimization, troubleshooting, scalability, and operational performance improvement
  • Design and support secure, scalable, and compliant solutions that protect healthcare and other sensitive data
  • Apply healthcare privacy, security, governance, and compliance standards throughout the solution lifecycle
  • Support platform reliability, monitoring, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with product owners, consultants, data engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions
  • Contribute to technical standards, architecture discussions, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging AI, cloud, healthcare data, and software engineering trends
  • Support a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

Skills

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, or related field required
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience required
  • Experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure environments required
  • Experience developing AI-enabled applications, data engineering solutions, and cloud-native technologies required
  • Strong software engineering and application development skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, and scalable data engineering practices
  • Understanding of AI/ML solution development, deployment, and operationalization concepts
  • Knowledge of healthcare privacy, security, compliance, and governance requirements
  • Ability to design and support secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment
  • Master's degree and relevant cloud, data engineering, or AI/ML certifications preferred
  • Experience working with healthcare data, HIPAA-regulated environments, or other highly regulated industries preferred
