Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Upserve is a restaurant technology and payments platform serving independent and multi-location restaurants across North America. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations, manage the month-end close process, and enhance financial controls and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and general ledger review
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting, variance analysis, and supporting schedules
• Perform complex account reconciliations across cash, balance sheet, revenue, deferred revenue, and payment processing accounts
• Support audits, maintain GAAP compliance, and assist with internal controls
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial visibility
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and special financial projects
• Review and support work completed by junior accounting staff

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting controls
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis
• Experience with ERP systems such as Campfire, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• CPA or CPA-track
• Public accounting or audit experience
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, payments, restaurant technology, or other high-volume transaction environments
• Experience with revenue recognition, deferred revenue, intercompany accounting, or payment processor reconciliations
• Experience in a private equity-backed, carve-out, or high-growth environment
