[Remote] Global Product Manager, Overhead Technologies

They are seeking a Global Product Manager for Overhead Technologies to lead the HV overhead switchgear portfolio, focusing on lifecycle ownership and market development while ensuring alignment with the broader MV portfolio. The role involves driving roadmap execution, competitive positioning, and cross-functional integration to achieve profitable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage as primary owner specific products and solutions within the global HV product portfolio
  • Develop and drive the portfolio strategy and product & solution roadmap for managed offerings
  • Lead idea generation through VoC (voice of the customer), market trends analysis, and identification and profiling of competitors’ products and activities, including close collaboration with the G&W GIST (Global Strategic Insights Team) on market research
  • Participate in relevant standards events, industry associations, and trade show events to provide appropriate guidance and influence for G&W and the industry at large
  • Assist in developing market segment intelligence and GTM plans for new products and solutions, including SAM, TAM, CAGR
  • Monitor industry trends that will impact product requirements and manage strategic plans for managed offerings accordingly
  • Support the review, analysis, and management of relevant impacts on the product portfolio’s P&L and the portfolio’s strategic direction
  • Drive set-up of new products including establishing pricing, alignment with SCM on optimal inventory levels, and directing Technical Product Managers in the development of sales collateral and training materials
  • Manage pricing strategy for managed portfolio products and solutions
  • Participate and drive projects through New Product Development (NPD) and Change Management (CMR) processes
  • Collaborate with NPD teams in the product development process for new products
  • Manage product and solution roadmaps in line with business and portfolio strategic plans and drive internal communications on the same
  • Lead projects to add necessary product and solution enhancements to managed offerings, with a goal of maintaining profitable growth
  • Create and communicate on value propositions, sales channel identification, and identification of buyer and user personas
  • Support sales and marketing in lead identification and planning to close sales or support channel gaps
  • Collaborate with sales & marketing on the creation of marketing and sales plans to grow sales of existing and new products and solutions
  • Lead the Sales Enablement necessary to ready sales teams for selling new products and solutions, and enhancements to existing offerings
  • Lead the development and management of pricing guidelines for new products and solutions
  • Collaborate with the marketing communications team to develop sales tools, training, and materials for existing and new products
  • Support monitoring and tracking of market success for new products launched and drive actions to enhance new product success
  • Support Base Business
  • Engage in product and solutions presentations as needed, for internal teams and external customers
  • Lead market driven forecast development for product lines by working with sales teams and sales enablement, evaluating market trends, and factoring in future product roadmap considerations
  • Provide direction to TPMs (Technical Product Managers) and support sales teams working customer applications and opportunities
  • Collaborate on development of and participate in large bid strategy and approvals
  • Support cross-functional teams in managing engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations issues
  • Lead monitoring win/loss data and support pricing adjustments to maintain competitiveness
  • Lead full product lifecycle management for managed offerings

Skills

  • A Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years' experience within the power industry in disciplines including product management, engineering, sales, marketing, or related roles
  • Strong technical and commercial aptitude and experience managing engineered to order products
  • Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated capabilities to positively influence both internal and external customers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Collaborative, results-oriented team player, with ability to manage conflict effectively with a win-win spirit and attitude
  • Ability to collaborate with and to influence a global cross-functional team
  • Proven skills in implementing effective and appropriate direct customer communications without supervision
  • Experience with high voltage electric power products
  • Experience working within teams spread globally around the world
  • Experience in a formal product management role working with hardware products and solutions
