The role involves supporting large-scale language model training by leveraging expertise in German grammar and linguistics to enhance AI's understanding and processing of the language.

Responsibilities

• Converse with the model on language scenarios
• Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
• Capture reproducible error traces
• Suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics

Skills

• Access to Android devices
• Expertise in German grammar, syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics, and pragmatics
• Ability to challenge advanced language models on topics like dialectal variation, formal versus colloquial language, German orthography, translation accuracy, semantic ambiguity, and cultural context
• Experience in documenting failure modes of language models
• Master's or PhD in German language, linguistics, or a closely related field
• Peer-reviewed publications
• Translation experience
• Hands-on linguistic analysis projects
• Clear, metacognitive communication skills
