Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Highway is the fastest-growing freight tech provider in North America. The Backend Developer III role is responsible for backend development of Highway’s products, ensuring the development and maintenance of robust backend solutions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development of backend solutions for Highway
• Build and maintain the backend (Ruby on Rails) codebase, along with other team members
• Periodically monitor backend applications and associated AWS stack, along with other team members
• Work cohesively with other developers on the team
• Participate in daily standups
• Conduct code reviews with other developers
• Manage project/task progress in JIRA

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field required
• 8 - 10 + years of experience in backend development, preferably in a SaaS environment
• Previous experience building & maintaining backend solutions with Ruby on Rails codebase
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams
