The Planet Group is seeking a hands-on AI engineering leader to design, build, and deploy enterprise AI automation solutions that streamline business processes. This role involves deep technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable AI-powered solutions and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end AI automation initiatives from discovery and solution design through development, deployment, and adoption
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business processes, identify automation opportunities, and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI applications, integrations, APIs, and user-facing tools
• Build secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions that integrate with enterprise platforms and cloud infrastructure
• Architect and implement intelligent agent workflows, reusable automation frameworks, and shared platform capabilities
• Collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure enterprise-ready solutions
• Develop technical documentation, implementation standards, and reusable playbooks that support long-term scalability
• Mentor team members and help drive AI adoption through knowledge sharing, training, and technical guidance
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance business outcomes

Skills

• Extensive experience building and deploying production software across backend, frontend, cloud, and integration layers
• Strong experience developing AI-powered applications using modern large language models and automation frameworks
• Expertise with Python and modern web technologies, including API development and frontend frameworks
• Experience deploying applications in cloud-native environments using modern CI/CD practices
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, authentication, and scalable application architecture
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Passion for leveraging AI to solve complex business challenges and improve operational efficiency
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
• Experience designing intelligent agent or AI automation platforms
• Background supporting enterprise or regulated environments
• Demonstrated success driving AI adoption across business functions
• Active user of AI-assisted software development tools and modern engineering practices
