As an Accountant II, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial information, collaborating with the Corporate Accounting team, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• In this role you’ll ensure the general ledger and financial reporting are accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with GAAP
• Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls related to general ledger accounts and reconciliations
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries and perform reconciliations for assigned accounts
• Analyze financial trends and investigate variances across the general ledger and financial statements
• Help maintain company-wide compliance with reconciliation standards and internal control requirements
• Complete investment portfolio accounting entries and related reconciliations
• Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting reports, including analyzing and explaining budget variances
• Support regulatory reporting by preparing data for filings such as FDIC Call Reports and SEC reports
• Follow company policies, procedures, and all applicable regulatory requirements

Skills

• You have an Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required)
• An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
• You have 2 or more years of accounting or related experience (Required)
• You bring a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and how they apply in practice
• You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable building and using spreadsheets to analyze data
• You communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, and collaborate well with others
• You have knowledge of federal and state regulations related to accounting within financial institutions
• You are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
