Northbound Executive Search is representing a nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Accountant Consultant to support their accounting team on a fully remote basis. The consultant will manage various accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and general ledger support while ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
• Process payroll and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
• Perform cost accounting analysis and monitor program and departmental expenses
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Analyze financial data and provide support for budgeting and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting-related issues
• Utilize NetSuite for day-to-day accounting operations, reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization
• Strong experience with AP, AR, Payroll, and Cost Accounting
• Hands-on NetSuite experience required
• Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
