Region Sales Director, Extended Care

Cardinal Health is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Region Sales Director (RD) to lead our Extended Care business across the Northeast. This critical leadership role is responsible for accelerating revenue growth and expanding market share of Cardinal Health’s branded product portfolio—including incontinence, nutritional delivery, sharp safety, and skin wound care —within the Extended Care market (LTC, DME, Hospice, and third-party billers). The RD will lead a high-performing sales team, positioning the organization for success in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. As a strategic leader, you will drive commercial performance, develop top talent, and cultivate strong partnerships while serving as a trusted advisor to customers across the extended care continuum. Region: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont Responsibilities: Growth & Strategy Lead regional sales strategy to grow market share and profitability across Extended Care market in the region. Identify and capture new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts. Execute targeted sales plans and ensure strong pipeline management. Lead & Develop Talent Recruit, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed sales team. Foster a high-performance, accountability-driven culture focused on results and continuous improvement. Drive performance through strategic coaching, joint field visits, and collaborative account strategy development. Champion employee engagement, development, and retention. Build Relationships Establish and maintain strong partnerships with regional distribution partners and channel stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Strategic Accounts, and other internal teams to win and grow business. Serve as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty. Deliver Operational Excellence Analyze market trends and customer data to drive informed decision-making and financial performance. Prepare and present business plans, forecasts, and performance reports. Ensure compliance with company policies, credentialing requirements, and industry standards. Lead change initiatives that align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Successful sales experience, with a strong preference for healthcare sales preferably within Extended Care (LTC, Home Care, Hospice, DME/HME, Rehab). Strong leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams. Demonstrated ability to drive customer retention, satisfaction, and revenue growth. Strong ability to develop relationships internally and externally at all levels up to and including C-Suite. Strong matrix management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including CRM tools like Salesforce. Exceptional skills in negotiation, forecasting, and strategic planning. Executive presence, solid presentation and communication capabilities. Customer/Vendor credentialing may be required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected. Ability to travel 70% within the territory; work from home when not traveling. Valid Driver's License with ability to drive a car and travel in that car. Live within the current open region. Ability to work remotely from home/field requires a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet & mobile phone.). Anticipated salary range: $198,000 - $230,000 (includes variable pay) *The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience, skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
