Summary The budgeted salary for this position is typically $1,000 per credit hour. This position is ineligible for health, dental, and life insurance benefits through Chicago State University. The Adjunct Lecturer facilitates meaningful learning of the course competencies in the area of Business. S/He provides education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. S/He encourages a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, ethics, as well as personal and professional development. This position is part-time/adjunct only. -Designs and delivers class instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies and the development of activities which support lesson objectives. -Enables the achievement of pre-described exit competencies for student achievement and establishes student performance criteria and evaluation. -Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement. -Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule. -Manages the learning environment through accurate keeping, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing University policies. -Relates professional life and industry experience to learning by the introduction of industry perspective and trends into courses. Required Education -MBA or a Master's degree in a business-related field; in particular: Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing or Management Information Systems. A PhD or DBA is preferred. -Membership in a professional association tied to area of instruction preferred Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities -Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations, and report writing skills. -Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills. -Computer-based skills (i.e., software and analytical).
