Job Description

Origin Legal, a business law firm based in Ogden, Utah, is hiring a part-time Law Clerk for a remote, flexible role designed around bar exam preparation. This is an ideal fit for a graduating law student or recent JD graduate who wants to continue building substantive legal experience while studying for the Utah Bar — with the potential to grow into a full-time associate position after passing. You'll work directly with the firm's founding attorney on transactional and intellectual property matters for small businesses, startups, and founders. Practice Areas Corporate Law, Business Law, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Startup Law, Trademark Law, Copyright Law

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents for corporate, business, M&A, startup, trademark, and copyright matters
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
• Assist with client intake and file management
• Support the firm with additional projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduating law student (Spring 2026) or recent JD graduate
• Strong academic record
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Demonstrated interest in business law, M&A, and/or IP
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Planning to sit for the Utah Bar preferred (already admitted is a plus)
