Online Adjunct Instructor

Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.

Responsibilities

The Faculty member will actively engage a culturally diverse student body in the learning process through the use of effective teachings strategies to ensure quality instruction. The faculty will collect, document and analyze assessment techniques in order to achieve course, program and institutional learning outcomes of the following disciplines:

  • Nutrition
  • Developmental Psychology
  • Public Speaking
  • College Algebra
  • Principles of Biology
  • Economics

The faculty willingly participates in a non-instructional activities to include but not limited to quality academic advising, student recruitment, campus committee participation and professional and community service.

  • Provide quality instruction through effective teaching strategies.
  • Participate in institutional assessment and accreditation activities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college expectations of the role of a college student at Seward County Community College.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in the discipline or Master’s Degree in another field but with a minimum of 18 completed graduate credits hours on specific teaching discipline. Two years to five years of similar or related experience. Both online instruction and in person adjuncts needed. Salary Range: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
