Applicant does need to live in the Dallas / Fort Worth TX Metroplex. Responsibilities: Responsible for scheduling, rescheduling and cancelling all procedure(s). Obtains and keeps up to date on all prior authorizations. Contacts area facility for available time for procedure. Educates patient on all aspects of the procedure that is scheduled. Schedules all pre-op clearance appointments with PCP or specialist. Coordinates all paperwork is needed (Including: complete order sets, H & Ps and imaging). Works with physician to keep preoperative, surgical protocols updated. Schedules all initial follow-up appointments from procedure. Completes informed consents. Calls in prescriptions according to MD protocol for procedure. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant certification required or must obtain within 90 days of hire date. At least one year of clinical experience in a front office /scheduling role. Advanced imaging scheduling experience preferred but not required.
