Lead Computer Vision Engineer - Autonomous Systems

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead Computer Vision Engineer to spearhead the development of advanced computer vision systems for autonomous applications. This is a fully remote, pivotal role where you will guide a team of engineers in designing, implementing, and deploying state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms. Your expertise will be critical in areas such as object detection, tracking, image segmentation, 3D reconstruction, and sensor fusion. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and AI researchers to create robust and reliable perception systems. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background combined with extensive practical experience in shipping complex computer vision products. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and optimization of computer vision algorithms for real-time applications. Develop algorithms for object detection, tracking, recognition, segmentation, and pose estimation. Implement and fine-tune deep learning models for vision tasks using frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. Work with various camera systems, LiDAR, and other sensors to develop robust perception pipelines. Ensure the performance, accuracy, and efficiency of vision systems in diverse environmental conditions. Collaborate with software engineers to integrate vision modules into larger autonomous systems. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team. Conduct research into novel computer vision techniques and their potential applications. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical roadmap for computer vision initiatives. Author technical documentation, patents, and publications. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with a specialization in Computer Vision or Machine Learning. Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in computer vision, with a strong portfolio of shipped products or projects. Expertise in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and relevant libraries (OpenCV, CUDA). Proficiency in C++ and Python for computer vision development. Solid understanding of image processing techniques, geometric vision, and 3D perception. Experience with sensor fusion, SLAM, or real-time algorithms is highly desirable. Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a remote team environment. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and deliver high-quality results.
