Requirements:

• CCDS certification required
• RN preferred with 5–10 years of CDI experience
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience required; complex specialty experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and CDI practices
• Experience performing CDI audits, second-level reviews, and validation reviews
• Experience evaluating query opportunities and query compliance
• Ability to identify documentation improvement opportunities and coding discrepancies
• Experience collaborating with CDI, coding, and clinical stakeholders
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Experience supporting customer-facing discussions and explaining CDI recommendations
• Experience with Optum, 3M, Iodine, or multiple CDI technology platforms
• Experience reviewing model-generated CDI opportunities and validating supporting clinical evidence
• Experience identifying alternate principal diagnoses, missed codes, and coding errors
