Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in the greater Boston area. The role involves conducting geotechnical subsurface investigations and preparing reports, while also participating in construction materials testing for various projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor subsurface drilling
• Obtain soil and rock samples
• Prepare boring logs
• Develop laboratory testing programs
• Interpret laboratory data
• Perform geotechnical analyses
• Prepare geotechnical reports
• Include construction materials testing
• Work on earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, and pavement construction testing

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or related field
• Previous internship experience required or 1+ year consulting experience
• Valid driver's license
• Strong quantitative/math and analytical skills
• Ability and willingness to participate in field work
• Ability to travel for out of town assignments (~50%)
• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is a plus
