Freelance Digital Marketing Manager (Strategy + Execution | US-Based)

My boutique agency is looking for a highly skilled, US-based freelance Digital Marketing Manager to support a growing roster of project-based clients. This role is ideal for someone who can operate at both a strategic and executional level- someone who doesn’t just build the plan, but actively implements and optimizes it. You’ll be stepping into client accounts to drive results hands-on, while also shaping the broader marketing direction. This is not a purely strategic or purely executional role. It requires both. This is a freelance, hourly position with flexible capacity. Work may be inconsistent at first, but there is strong potential for ongoing projects and increased hours over time. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Developing and implementing lead generation funnels for service-based businesses
  • Owning CRO strategy and making direct optimizations to websites and landing pages
  • Building and managing Klaviyo flows, campaigns, and segmentation
  • Supporting Shopify store management (merchandising, product setup, light backend work)
  • Executing SEO improvements (on-site, technical, and content direction)
  • Leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, content, and analysis
  • Monitoring performance and proactively optimizing across channels

⸻ How This Role Works: You will be the primary marketing lead on select client accounts—responsible for both strategy and day-to-day execution. There is a small, trusted team in place (including development support when needed, an assistant for time consuming tasks). However, this role requires someone who can independently move work forward, identify opportunities, and take action without heavy oversight. Ideal Candidate:

  • US-based and fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Strong experience across both eCommerce and lead generation funnels
  • Deep expertise in Klaviyo, Shopify, CRO, and SEO
  • Comfortable switching between high-level strategy and hands-on execution
  • Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented
  • Confident using AI tools to increase speed and efficiency

  • Comfortable being client-facing and managing relationships directly
  • Experience leading calls, presenting strategy, and owning communication
  • Ability to operate autonomously and take full ownership of projects
