Citation Group is a collective of businesses dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises across a range of essential services. They are currently looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to support their busy Finance team, covering standard month-end and year-end procedures as well as providing ad-hoc support for the group finance team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day financial transactions and record-keeping
• Monitor and respond to accounts inbox, answering queries within agreed SLA’s
• Billing preparation – collecting monthly figures, invoice preparations, monitoring contracts agreements, billing schedules maintenance
• Credit control management, producing weekly statements, identifying and resolving accounts discrepancies, errors and potential anomalies. Contacting customers to discuss payment
• Bank/credit cards transactions and cash book reconciliations
• Process purchase invoices
• Processing of month-end journals as required
• Assist in month end closing process (i.e. cost analysis by ledger account)

Skills

• Previous experience in day to day finance transactions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines across different disciplines
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• The ability to act on own initiative as well as being a team player
• Ability to identify potential issues and problems in timely manner and take relevant actions
• Proficiency in using financial software (preferably Sage 50/200) with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Eager to learn and absorb information from the team and other departments, contribute own viewpoint/opinion
