As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with a team of registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing experts to ensure our clients receive the reimbursement they're entitled to. This is a hybrid position, offering a mix of remote and in-office work, with a 2/3 days on/off schedule.   • *Key Responsibilities**

As a Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Associate, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Retrieving patient medical records from various Hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits, adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Extracting and entering necessary information from/to Hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality
  • Making phone calls to Post Acute Healthcare Facilities to obtain information needed on patients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Running and creating reports to support the Revenue Recovery Department's efforts, analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Scanning and indexing of documents, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • *Essential Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on healthcare or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in medical records, data entry, or a related field, with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of professionals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • *Preferred Qualifications**

While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, such as Health Information Management or Medical Records
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of HIPAA and other relevant regulations
  • Certification in medical records or a related field, such as RHIT or CCS
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues
