Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to individuals, families, and small group employees seeking information, enrollment assistance, and other services related to the MHC
  • Utilizing the State's eligibility and enrollment portal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to perform tasks and duties for HIX customers
  • Ensuring delivery of high-quality service for all Maryland consumers
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues and improve overall customer experience
  • Staying up-to-date on product knowledge, policies, and procedures to provide accurate and timely information to customers

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • Background in healthcare, human services, or customer service
  • Experience in data entry and call centers
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will make you an even stronger candidate:

  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse and disadvantaged populations in a courteous and effective manner
  • Experience with CRM software and other State systems
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and healthcare-related policies and procedures
