CPA – Financial Operations (Remote, Startup Environment)

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). The CPA will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing tax preparation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert accounting and financial insights. Additional responsibilities include assisting with financial decision-making processes and collaborating with clients to meet their specific accounting and financial needs. Manage 30-40 clients (ramp-up, starting lower volume to ensure fit).

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve monthly books in QuickBooks Online
  • EFIN - Has active EFIN number
  • Review financial documents before sending to clients
  • Generate and deliver financial reports on schedule
  • Always available on Slack — must respond within 30 minutes
  • Manage client communications, deadlines, and escalations
  • Follow up with bookkeepers to ensure accounts are maintained
  • Has extensive experience in filing and preparing Taxes (1099, K1, 1040, 1120....)

Requirements

  • CPA license (mandatory)
  • 3+ years in client accounting, controller, or accounting ops including Tax Filings: C-corp, S-Corp, 1099, individual tax returns.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online & financial reporting
  • Strong communication; able to handle live US client calls
  • Previous startup experience preferred
