Course Lecturer for « Anglais Santé » program by Dialogue McGill

The “Anglais Santé” program offered by the Dialogue McGill project and funded by Health Canada since 2004 under the Official Languages Health Program, is focused on initiatives to build and maintain the capacity of bilingual health and social services professionals in Quebec to improve health care access for Canadian official language minority communities. The course lecturer will develop and deliver virtual face-to-face English conversation workshops for professionals working in the health care and social services sector. Workshops are offered 3 times a year, at each semester. The English conversation workshop is a 16-hour module delivered over 8 weeks, Monday through Friday, 11:30am to 1:30pm and/or 2 to 4pm and/or after working hours; 5 to 7pm and/or 7 to 9pm. The position requires availability at least one evening per week (from 5 to 7 pm or from 7 to 9 pm). The course lecturer will be required to develop conversation content for the assigned class fluency level(s) based on pre-defined workshop learning outcomes and deliver the teaching material using online learning platforms (e.g., Zoom and the McGill MyCourses learning management system). Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services. English conversation workshops are offered for different language proficiency levels: Elementary 1, 2, & 3; Intermediate 1, 2 & 3; Advanced 1 & 2 for each of the following job categories: English Conversation for health care providers English Conversation for intake staff English Conversation for social service providers Workshops must be recorded with the recording uploaded to MyCourses within 1 week of the class. Dialogue McGill's Anglais Santé Program content is the sole property of McGill University and cannot be used for purposes outside of teaching for the Anglais Santé program. Major duties and responsibilities Delivers virtual face-to-face English conversation workshops each week at designated times from August 31 until November 2, 2026. Develops conversation content for the assigned class fluency level(s) based on pre-defined workshop learning outcomes and syllabus by proficiency level (available at Dialogue McGill). Approves all final grades for the conversation modules. Meets with students who require special accommodations. Updates conversation content to reflect changes to curriculum, as needed and as requested by the supervisor. Assists the supervisor in addressing academic matters as they arise (level transfers, assessments, feedback, etc.). Attends meetings and workshops as and when needed, including a pre-session orientation meeting before the start of the session, and a post-session wrap-up meeting at the end of the session N.B., under article 15.02 b) of the collective agreement, “The University may, at its discretion, assign the person of its choice to give this Course/ Teaching” Application dates: June 1 until June 15, 2026, inclusively.
