About The Role We are seeking an experienced Web Copywriter to join our team on a remote basis, supporting a significant website refresh initiative for our higher education program landing pages. This contract role is expected to run through the end of the year, with an immediate start. The primary focus will be on optimizing content to enhance user engagement, improve search engine visibility, and increase discoverability through large language models (LLMs). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in web copywriting, with a proven ability to craft compelling, conversion-focused content that aligns with brand voice and strategic marketing goals. You will collaborate closely with internal marketing teams and stakeholders to ensure content consistency, quality, and effectiveness across multiple projects, managing deadlines efficiently while maintaining a high standard of work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional web copywriting experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating landing pages, web content, and long-form marketing copy
  • Experience writing for longer sales cycles and complex consumer decision journeys
  • Thorough knowledge of modern SEO principles, including user intent and content interpretation
  • Ability to structure web content using best practices for heading hierarchy and organization
  • Proficiency in following creative briefs and adhering to established brand voice guidelines
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills and comfort working asynchronously
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Update and optimize existing higher education program landing pages to improve engagement and conversions
  • Interpret AI-generated content audits and implement recommended improvements to enhance content quality
  • Write and edit long-form marketing content focused on driving user engagement and conversions
  • Structure content strategically for SEO, readability, and LLM discoverability, including effective use of headings and content hierarchy
  • Incorporate compelling calls-to-action (CTAs) throughout landing pages and program content
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and stakeholder teams during review cycles to ensure content alignment and quality
  • Manage multiple content projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality
  • Participate in weekly team standups and communicate project progress asynchronously to maintain workflow transparency
