Associate PD Engineer
Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is an industry-leading innovation company focused on creating smarter, safer and more beautiful homes. They are seeking an Associate Product Development Engineer to collaboratively improve products and ensure robust designs meet user and business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative new products and extend current product lines
- Work together with team members to develop capable, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes concurrent to product design activities to ensure robust designs are delivered
- Problem solving and failure analysis using engineering analysis tools
- Actively participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products
- Proactively compile, prepare and present data for timely project updates and technical presentations
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
- Experience with 3D modeling CAD software
- Self-motivated and works well in a collaborative design culture
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Desire to work hand-on, prototype and troubleshoot proactively
- Prior Co-op / Internship experience
- Experience with SolidWorks and/or 3DX
- Exposure to Failure Analysis, FEA, DRBFM, FMEA, DOE, and DFMA
- Ability to apply engineering principles, i.e. fluid, mechanical, and thermal
- Interpretation of statistics related to manufacturing processes and part design
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Tolerance stack-up and analysis
