This position supports and delivers comprehensive academic, retention, career and transfer advising services for students. The advisor supports Academic Advising and campus strategic goals for student access, retention, persistence and completion and aids students in developing meaningful plans that are compatible with their academic, career, transfer and life goals. This position will work 32 hours per week, with full benefits. This position reports to the Director of Advising. This is an exempt, salaried position, working 32 hours per week with some remote work offered per college policy. Core office hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, M-F with some nights and weekends required. Primary work will be in Reedsburg Wisconsin. Responsibilities include: Academic Advising a. Holistically advises students about career options, admission requirements, programs of study, transfer opportunities, degree requirements and overall academic planning. b. Develops, coordinates, and presents information individually and in group settings (classroom visits, workshops, advising & registration events, etc.). c. Serves as an Academic Advising liaison on College projects, committees and workgroups. d. Resolves student questions or concerns regarding academic policy and procedures and refers to appropriate resources when necessary. e. Provides excellent customer service to students/customers f. Prepares and presents information related to advising services and activities using both formal and informal approaches. Student Retention/Case Management a. Supports students in planning their educational experience including identifying academic support needs, time management and related strategies for success. b. Develops academic plans for students on College SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress). c. Assists with Alerts/Cases from faculty and staff to successful resolution (assess situation, determine possible solutions); monitors progress; communicates with students and faculty; tracks data, completes processing and reports. d. Provides information and referrals for personal and academic support services including counseling, Veteran Resource Services, Disability Resource Services, mentoring, financial planning, employment support, first-generation services, conflict resolution, tutoring and supplemental instruction. e.
