The Accounting Clerk is part of the Corporate department, which resides on the Accounting team and reports to the Accounting Manager. As our Accounting Clerk, you will assist in the entry of accounting transactions and invoices at CIS. This position will assist in managing multiple levels and subclasses in a detailed financial system and be responsible for ensuring proper information and practices are being utilized in the Accounting function. This role requires the ability to work with a complex accounting system. What You'll Do: Perform accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions including reviewing, verifying, and processing supplier invoices for accuracy and authorization Match transactions to purchase orders and other relevant documentation; maintain supporting documentation for transactions electronically Prepare and process electronic payments and checks; monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements Assist in the month end accounting close process Assist in the analysis and reconciliation of supplier statements and resolution of discrepancies Communicate with external vendors/customers and various internal stakeholders to gather information to support the financial reporting process Ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance with appropriate accounting standards Ensure and follow department compliance with best practices and standards, and recommend improvements to company accounting practices Assist in gathering data for annual audits Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned What You'll Need: High School diploma or equivalent 1+ years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or related work Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail with accuracy and good record keeping Proficient in Microsoft Excel Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management Must be authorized to work in the United States It's a Plus if You Have: Associates degree in Accounting or Finance Previous experience working with ERP or accounting software, preferably Workday 2+ years’ experience in Accounting, Finance or related work At CIS, we are committed to providing an inclusive environment in which the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and views of our employees, members, and customers are valued and respected. Range: USD$26.11 - $41.78
