Vellum Health is a growing healthcare services company dedicated to supporting patients, providers, and healthcare organizations. They are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Assist with maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
• Assist with audit requests and financial reporting support
• Prepare recurring reports and schedules for management
• Support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Skills

• 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting software
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger accounting
• Experience working in a healthcare or professional services environment
